Intro
Tingsha, also known as ‘Tibetan chime’, are small hand-held cymbals used in Tibetan Buddhism & sound healing. It is also used in various Hindu rituals, prayers & bhajans (devotional songs or hymns expressing love & devotion to god).
It is also used for aura & energy cleaning of space & self.
Made of
Tingsha, generally made of bronze alloy (copper + tin); sometimes silver, nickel are added too. And 2 cymbals are attached by leather strap.
There are various designs and sizes of Tingsha.
How to Play
Tingshas are played by gently striking the rims of both cymbals.
It is not suggested to strike hard.
A gentle touch is key to bring beautiful and resonant sound.
